Summary: If you think a swimming pool is safer than in any body of natural water, you got another thing coming this time. Aside from the eye-searing chlorine and any incident involving water intakes, you now have the supernatural to worry about. And it all starts in a pool in Greece.

History: For at least eighty centuries, the malevolent water spirit known as Nereus has haunted Greece. Now, it has focused its sights on a random swimming pool. Anyone unfortunate enough to enter this pool is either drowned, possessed, or haunted. The recent crop of people here are now desperately trying to figure out how to drive it away, even if the solution points to murder and betrayal.

Final Fate: After revealing her true colors, Nereus' host tries to kill the survivors, but ends up getting stabbed in the heart. Nereus then just moves on to the girl it was pursuing, but a psychic gives her a special knife to stab herself in the heart. Whether she went through with it or not to stop Nereus forever, none can say...

Powers/Abilities: Possession, manipulation of water/reality, a major healing factor.

Weakness: A stab to the heart will release the possessed from Nereus' grasp. Though if the person stabs themselves, Nereus will be banished.

Scariness Factor: 3-Sure, the CGI is obviously not going to be good for a water entity animated on a low-budget, but you cannot deny that Nereus is a very malevolent being. It can toss you into a pool to drown despite being nowhere near it, the possessed are thoroughly psychotic, and it will haunt anyone who dares stick around. But alas, another thing holding it back is how it's apparently restricted to that one dinky pool. Just stay away from it.

Trivia: -In Greek mythology, Nereus, or the Old Man of the Sea, was the son of Pontus and Gaia, and was a legitimately kind and honest water God that could shapeshift and see the future. He fathered many water nymphs, one of which would have Achilles as a son. But in time, his legacy was replaced with that of Triton.
